Major Motion was formed in 1975 in the Leimert Park area of Los Angeles. The name Major Motion is inspired by Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor, a pioneer in American cycling. Major Taylor was an African American cyclist who won hundreds of races during an illustrious 13 year career, including the 1899 One Mile World Championship in Montreal Quebec, Canada, to become the first African American to achieve the level of world champion and the second black athlete to win a world championship in any sport.
About us: We are bicyclists who enjoy the pleasure of riding with friends and family. We are not a racing club - we welcome people of all abilities. We are a "no drop" club, meaning we leave no one behind. All you need to ride with us is a safe, working bike, a helmet that fits, your own hydration and food and a good attitude.
Thank you for visiting our website. Do you have questions or suggestions? Would you like to be contacted by a club representative? Please leave your contact information and we will get back with you at our earliest opportunity.
